HISTORY:

The inception of Akshara Nagari Association of Qatar (ANAQ) resulted from a meeting of distinguished senior citizens, business magnates, and dedicated social workers hailing from Kottayam District, Kerala. ANAQ, a non-profit, service-oriented organization, emerged with a mission to aid expatriates from Kottayam facing familial or individual needs while residing in Qatar. 

The organization stands as a beacon of assistance and community support, driven solely by the altruistic spirit of its founders.

PURPOSE:

In pursuit of fostering camaraderie and friendship, we aspire to unite not only our members but also extend our warmth to the broader Indian community, Qataris, and fellow expatriates residing in Qatar. 

Operating within the bounds of local and Indian laws, our association is driven by several key objectives:

Promoting Social Awareness: 

We strive to create a community that stands together in times of need, promoting social consciousness and mutual assistance.

Empowering Blue Collar Workers:

Providing a vibrant platform for blue-collar workers to showcase their cultural richness, social bonds, and a sense of unity within the association.

Legal Assistance and Insurance: 

Offering our members legal support and insurance security through the ICBF insurance scheme and a dedicated legal cell.

Repatriation Support: 

In the unfortunate event of a fellow member's passing, we are committed to facilitating a smooth repatriation process with comprehensive assistance from the State and the Indian Embassy.

ACTIVITIES:

Akshara Nagari Association of Qatar [ANAQ] operates in adherence to the laws, regulations, and guidelines set forth by the Governments of India and the State of Qatar. The below listed initiatives are undertaken through the operatives of ANAQ:

Charitable Pursuits:
The association is dedicated to conducting charitable and benevolent activities, extending a helping hand to its members.

Cultural Empowerment:
ANAQ actively promotes and supports cultural endeavors, especially focusing on blue-collar workers from India.

Safety Initiatives:
The association conducts safety trainings and collaborates with ICBF for benevolent activities, prioritizing the well-being of its members.

Community Involvement:
ANAQ volunteers for local environmental cleanliness programs, actively engages in safe traffic practices during state functions, and participates in various social initiatives like beach cleaning, medical camps, awareness campaigns, and blood donation drives.

Socio-Cultural Support:
Members play an integral role in supporting and participating in socio-cultural activities organized by the Embassy of India, its apex bodies, and the Qatar Government.

Support in Distress:
ANAQ stands as a pillar of support, offering assistance to its members during times of distress.

Sports and Recreation:
The association organizes sports activities in coordination with related apex bodies, fostering a sense of camaraderie and well-being among its members.

Holistic Engagement:
Under the overarching guidance of the Embassy of India, ANAQ is open to exploring any other activities aligned with its objectives, ensuring a holistic approach to community engagement.
