The Akshara Nagari Association, representing the Kottayam community in Qatar, celebrated its grand Onam festival titled “Aksharanagari’s Ponnonam 2K25” at Olive International School, Thumama. 

The event was presided over by President Varghese Vannala Abraham and officially inaugurated by Dr Eish Singhal, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Qatar.

The celebration brought together distinguished guests, including leaders from major Indian community organisations, school representatives, and clergy members. The event featured a variety of cultural programs such as Thiruvathira, cinematic dance performances, musical shows, and entertaining games like Vadamvali (tug-of-war).

A grand Onasadya (traditional feast) and creative attractions like Athappookalam (floral carpet) and Kanal Mela added colour to the festivities. The association also recognised students for academic excellence and honoured members for their contributions and sponsorships.

The event reflected the true spirit of Onam — unity, culture, and joy — bringing the Malayali community in Qatar together for a memorable celebration.
